ITS ON!
I left my previous ideas to work with Sebastian Antonsen, Einar Martinsen, Adrian Fjellberg, Xiah YeFu and William Christoffersen on an AMAZING film.
To keep it short, the film will take place in a future Oslo, where Man and Machine co-exists and form a society. Into this society, a little robot is born, but struggles to find its purpose.
We decided on mixing real footage with 3d and matte elements, which to me is very exciting! Ever since I saw the YouTube phenomenon “Whats in the Box”, I’ve wanted to do this myself, and I think that this type of production will be an exellent experience ( and reference ) for future industry work.
We’re in our second week of production and the first week we all sat down and tried to organize a pipeline, which I feel we should have done a better job at. Currently I’m bouncing between doing Concept Art, Storyboards and Story at the same time, which is not a workflow I’m comfy with at my skill level. Maybe this is what it’s like working in the industry, and in such case this is great practice. But in my opinion, I would have gotten more work done if I’d been allowed to concentrate fully on Concepts for example. Being as we’ve only just finished writing down the story today, some of the work I’ve done on the storyboards feels wasted, as shots are changed and so on. Regardless, we’re doing great progress on many fronts! Me and Einar are almost finished deciding on robot-designs and the general style of the movie. Sebastian is working close with William on rigging and animating. Xiah has made good progress on Learning Nuke and Adrian is cooking up something special and secret for us! yes… a secret weapon!
I’ll upload a photo of our Concept Art Wall asap.
